Accreditation Fee Schedule
The fee schedule is effective for self-studies (applications) submitted on or after July 1, 2016. Accredited programs are not required to pay the annual fee the year they apply for re-accreditation. The application process and fees for re-accreditation are the same as for initial accreditation. All fees below are in U.S. dollars. Please note, fee schedules are reviewed on an ongoing basis and are subject to change. Advanced notice will be provided when fee increases occur.
Accreditation Fees
Application:
$2,000 Application fee per program (initial and re-accreditation applications)
$1,000 Application fee per additional program (initial and re-accreditation applications)
Annual/Sustaining:
$2,000 Annual fee (with annual report submission due April 1)
$1,000 Annual fee per additional program (with annual report submission due April 1)
Site Visits:
U.S. Site Visit Fees - Effective January 1, 2023:
$1,250 Site visit - per site visitor, minimum two visitors** (initial and re-accreditation visits). Effective July 1, 2025, the site visitor fees will increase to $2,000 per site visitor (minimum two site visitors) for programs undergoing initial and re-accreditation
$1,000 Site visitor honorarium - per site visitor, minimum two visitors (initial and re-accreditation visits)
$1,250 Resource visit fee (resource visits are optional)
$1,000 Resource site visitor honorarium - one site visitor (resource visits are optional)
Site Visits Outside of the U.S. - Effective January, 1, 2023:
Programs are billed at costs for all travel expenses related to the visit. ABAI and the program work together to plan related expenses, timeline, and payment processes.
$1,000 Site visitor honorarium - per site visitor, minimum two visitors (initial and re-accreditation visits)
$1,000 Resource site visitor honorarium - one site visitor (resource visits are optional)
Appeals:
$5,000 (plus hearing expenses and panel travel expenses)
**The ABAI Accreditation Board may determine to increase the number of site visitors necessary to conduct the visit and will consult with the programs in such instances. Situations when more than two site visitors are needed include, but are not limited to:
- When a university is seeking (re)accreditation for more than one program during a single site visit (e.g., master’s and doctoral program).
- When an applying program has a significant distance education component that requires review at off-site locations.
- When the applying program is significantly larger than an average program and more resources are needed to fully vet the program in the context of our standards.
